Blue, a unique colour for a cap

When you think of a blue cap, do you immediately think of a traditional skipper's cap? It's true, most skippers' caps used to be blue. But by now, these fishermen's caps are also available in many other colours. And blue caps now also exist in many other types of caps. Why choose a cap in blue?

Blue, on the one hand, is a warm colour. Dark blue is very popular for caps for autumn/winter. Think of a flat cap in blue or a corduroy cap in blue. For summer, we then see more caps in light blue. Baseball caps and snapback caps are caps that are very popular in blue. Blue is a fresh colour that also goes very well with other colours. You wear a blue cap, for example, with basic colours such as white, grey or black. But also with striking colours such as brown, yellow, ochre, orange, red, green, gold... a blue cap does well. We see a slight trend that a light blue cap is slightly more popular with women than with men, and that a dark blue cap does slightly better with men than with women. We also see that blue caps are often worn by ladies as a contrast to their clothing. Men tend to wear blue caps ton-sur-ton, or in other words, on other shades of blue.
