A size L hat, it fits down to the millimetre

A size L hat is a fairly average size. They are hats from a size 58 to hats of a size 59. Smaller hats belong to size S or M and larger hats are then a size XL. Sometimes the size 59 hat belongs to an intermediate size, the L/XL, as does the size 60 hat. For each size L hat, you will find a size chart that clarifies this calculation.

Calculate your size

You take the size of your head in what we call 'normal' conditions. In very hot weather, after exercising or if you are tired, your head may have a slightly larger size and therefore a size L hat may seem too small. A size 58 hat may then suddenly feel like a size 57 or 56 hat.

Adjust your size L hat to suit your circumstances

Did you buy one of our size L hats and does it feel a bit loose after a while? Then use a size-reducer. This can make your hat up to two sizes smaller. A size 58 hat will then become a 56 or 57 and a size 59 hat will become a 57 or 58.

Keeping your hat on your head

If your size L hat fits perfectly but you go hiking in windy weather, for example, attach a drawstring and clip. That way you won't lose it easily and your hat will always fit snugly too. The right size offers comfort and freedom in whatever conditions you wear your hat. It sometimes lies in a small detail, but a hat that feels comfortable is no luxury.
