What cap size do you need? We can help!
You have found a cap that completely matches your outfit and your style? And you have chosen the material you want, the colour and the model? Then you can also take a look at the cap's features. Or are you looking for a particular pattern? Here, too, we have a huge variety. Of course, then comes the question: which cap size do you need? For some of our caps, we only have one size. Other caps from our range, such as our snapback caps, can be adjusted at the back with a snap button. Use our size chart to start determining the right cap size.
How to take your cap size?
When sizing your cap, we recommend that you do this a peer and at different times of the day. Due to heat or fatigue, your head may vary slightly in size. Take this into account when taking your cap size. To measure your head, use a string or tape measure. Measure exactly where your cap will be. Usually this is about 0.5 cm above the ear and across the middle of your forehead. Don't pull the tape measure or string too tight, but don't leave it too loose either. If you then note the number of centimetres, you will have the size you need for your cap.
An overview of the cap sizes we use
You have taken the size of your head for your cap? A cap size is expressed in centimetres. You determine the size of the cap on the basis of these centimetres. Here is an overview of the different cap sizes we use. To determine the cap size, we use the common standard sizes:
S - Small: 54-55 cm
M - Medium: 56-57 cm
L - Large: 58-59 cm
XL - Extra Large: 60-61 cm
XXL - Extra Extra Large: 62-63 cm
Hatland also offers intermediate sizes!
When we take a cap size, we find that these 5 standard sizes are not always sufficient for our customers' sizes. When we take a cap size, we find that the measured number of centimetres sometimes falls between these standard sizes. This is why we also work with intermediate sizes. This way, we are going to be able to perfectly determine the size of a cap.
These intermediate sizes are:
S/M - Small-Medium: 55-56 cm
L/XL - Large-Extra Large: 59-60 cm
So while many cap manufacturers only work with 5 cap sizes, we at Hatland have 7. This will allow you to take your cap size much more accurately. The better the size is recorded, the more comfortable your cap will feel. A loose-fitting cap is easy to lose, a cap that is too tight makes you feel very uncomfortable. Sizing is therefore an important step in choosing your cap.
