About data processing
Below you can read how we process your data, where we store it (or have it stored), what security techniques we use and who can view the data.
Email and distribution lists
Our website uses MailChimp, a third-party provider that handles email traffic from our website and the sending of newsletters. All confirmation emails you receive via our website and web forms are sent via MailChimp's servers. MailChimp will never use your name and email address for its own purposes. At the bottom of every email that is automatically sent via our website, you will find the "Unsubscribe" link. If you click on this link, you will no longer receive emails from our website. This can significantly limit the functionality of our website! Your personal data is stored securely by MailChimp. MailChimp uses cookies and other internet technologies that provide information about whether emails are opened and read. MailChimp reserves the right to use your data to further improve its services and to share information with third parties in this context.
We use the services of Office365 for our regular business e-mail traffic. This provider has taken appropriate technical and organisational measures to prevent misuse, loss and falsification of your and our data as far as possible. Office365 does not have access to our inbox and we treat all our e-mail traffic confidentially.
To process (part of) the payments in our webshop, we use the Mollie platform. Mollie processes your name, address and place of residence and your payment details such as your bank details or credit card number. Mollie has taken appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data. Mollie reserves the right to use your data to further improve the service and to share (anonymised) data with third parties in this context. All the above-mentioned guarantees for the protection of your personal data also apply to the parts of Mollie's services for which Mollie engages third parties. Mollie will not retain your data for longer than the statutory periods.
Shipping and logistics
When you place an order with us, it is our job to get your parcel to you. We use the services of DHL to carry out the deliveries. To do this, we need to pass on your name, address and place of residence to DHL. DHL uses this data only for the purpose of contract fulfilment. In the event that DHL uses subcontractors, DHL will also make your data available to them.
External sales channels
We sell (part of) our products via the Bol.com platform. When you place an order via this platform, Bol.com shares your order and your personal data with us. We use this information to process your order. We treat your data confidentially and have taken appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss and unauthorised use.
Purpose of data processing
We use your data solely for the purpose of providing our services. This means that the purpose of the processing is always directly related to the order you have placed with us. We do not use your data for (targeted) marketing. If you provide us with data and we use this data to contact you at a later date - other than at your request - we will ask for your explicit permission to do so. Your data will not be passed on to third parties, except to fulfil accounting and other administrative obligations. These third parties are all bound to confidentiality on the basis of an agreement between them and us or on the basis of a statutory or legal obligation.
The data automatically collected by our website is processed with the aim of further improving our services. This data (e.g. your IP address, web browser and operating system) is not personal data.
In appropriate cases, Hatland Headwear B.V. may be legally obliged to share your data in connection with government tax or criminal investigations. In such a case, we are obliged to share your data, but we will oppose this to the extent permitted by law.
We keep your data for as long as you are our customer. This means that we will keep your customer profile until you indicate that you no longer wish to use our services. If you inform us of this, we will also interpret this as a request to be forgotten. In accordance with the applicable administrative regulations, we must keep invoices containing your (personal) data for as long as the relevant period runs. However, our employees no longer have access to your customer profile and the documents that we have created on your instructions.
